Colchester Memory Afternoons blog from 18 June, 2018
27th June 2018
We return to the Lion Walk Activity Centre to reminisce about the cultural side of earlier life. This time we talked about how people let their hair down. From going to the pictures to showing off their moves in the dance halls, there were warming tales of how people relaxed, had fun and at times found love.

Warm & Toasty Club
25th April 2018
Memory Afternoons are unique events about making older people feel special and cherished. They are run by The Warm and Toasty Club and are designed to allow residents in some of our retirement communities to share positive memories of the lives and be entertained by young singers and dancers as well as taking part in a range of activities.
Memory Afternoons combat the pervasive problem of social isolation and give opportunities to younger artists. Currently, they are in the final to win £50,000 which will allow up to 100 older people each week to benefit from ‘Memory Afternoons’.
The events are documented by Adam Roxby
